On November 10th, 2018, Dimi and I hosted once again Ohio Dominican's Birding Club and the Union County Bird Club for a hotdog roast and owl walk. This was the sixth year we have done it. The attendance was over 50 this year, and we saw one Eastern Screech-Owl very well and heard a Great Horned Owl repeatedly (and got glimpses of it flying by a couple of times). There wasn't as much owl activity this year, especially for the second half of the walk. In addition to owls, we also saw a raccoon, opossum, mouse, and some deer. I want to thank everyone who brought food or otherwise contributed to the walk, especially my mother (Margo Mathys) and aunt (Linda Mathys) for providing additional refreshments in the middle and end of the walk. Thanks to Eric Matthews for once again serving as the official photographer and sharing the pictures below.
