Amy Karpati, Vic Medore, and I looked for salamanders in northern New Jersey. I was hoping to find an unambiguous Mountain Dusky Salamander, but we were not that lucky. In addition to salamanders (Redback, Red, Slimy, Northern Dusky, and Two-lined) we also saw Louisiana Waterthrush, Acadian Flycatcher, Red-eyed Vireo, Veery, Belted Kingfisher, Worm-eating Warbler, American Redstart, Wood Thrush, one Northern Water Snake, and American Toad.
